A great sociologist

Max Weber was a German sociologist, philosopher, and political economist whose ideas influenced social theory, social research , and the entire discipline of sociology.  He was born in 1864 and died in 1920, and is often cited, with Durkheim and Marx , as among the three founding creators of sociology.

The work of Weber was based on the study of society and wrote books about them as, “the political and the scientific”, “sociology of power. Types of domination”, “sociology of religion”, “Bag: Introduction to the stock system” and many more.

He wrote a lot of books about the society and the sociologist's work, as I showed you above, but I just have read some chapters of: “Economy and Society” and “The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism”, and when I read those chapters, I really liked them, because all about he said in his books like processes and power relation, we can found in today’s society.

Also he found the relation between the capitalism and the religion, which is a very important study, because thanks to him, we are able to relate an important economic model, that even today is use, with something so elemental for people like the religion. Is for studies like this one that him is very important, especially for the sociology.

Is for that that I like him, because all that I know about his job, I can found in the society in which I live.

World War Two

I seen a lots of movies about this horrible time of history, all of those are very sad because shown the terrible events that happened like the holocaust, which killed million of peoples. I have read books about the World War Two, one of those books is “Sahara’s Key” , that tell the history of a family of french jews that are captured by nazis.

The most shocking aspect of this war to me is the great slaughter of people, especially because it was not justified, it certainly shows the decay of the human being.

The lesson that this War let me is that is necessary that the people be tolerant, for that the humanity can be at peace, and people preserve their freedom.

I think that the wars are not necessary, because the dialogue exist for solving the problems between nations  precisely to avoid clashes like this. So i dont willing the war under any reasons.

Personaly I think that is very possible that exist in the future a World War 3 because the lust for power is more strong that the  dialogue capacity for resolve problems.

Here I leave a picture of this war, I hope that the world think about his capacity of destroy all that we want. 

A magic place

At the end of last year, in the month of december, with my classmates went on study tour to the south of Chile. We went to Valdivia, Pucón, Caburga, Villarrica and the Caburga’s eyes. The picture that I chose is from the Caburga's eyes. In this place we walk for all the routes, which  ones flowed in the river that flows for the place leaving azure waters in little pools, like shows the picture.

So when we went to that place, my friend Valentina took a picture of one of that little pools.

I particularly like this picture, because shows the greatness and weakness of the world and the destroyer that the men can be. So this place makes me think about the obligation that  men have with the mother earth  and through this preserve beautiful and magical places like this one.

A door to another world

The music is very important in my life, because every time i listen music I am transported to another world, is like your body stay in the earth and your mind fly for the universo, is a wonderfull  sensation, also the music is for me a source of inspiration, each time that i want to draw, paint o write I listen music, and a lot of thought come to mind.

Personally I like all sorts of music, but especially pop, electro, rock and R&B.

I went to some concerts, like Calle 13 and Madonna  and I also went to Festival de Viña del Mar, to see to Miguel bose. I  frecuently listen radio in the morning and in the afternoon when I travel through Santiago and I listen music from my own colection especially when I am in home o when I travel to Santiago from my city.

If I was a song, I probably would be an electro song, because I like the rhythm and I think that although  this songs dont have letters, can express deep emotions.

I don't have any music skills, it is very unfortunate, because I would like so much sing well or play any instrument.

I think that the world without music, would be very sad and unhappy.

I love my T.V !

Since i can remember has been a tv in my house, i think is for that reason that i like so much. If you take a minute and think about this piece of technology you will  find an amazing world. I often watch tv, is amazing the amount of programs and movies that you can see.
I like the television becouse, is an artifact that let you travel to another realities, and seeamazing and wonderfull worlds, allows you met nice people and also bad people, let you inform about the things that happens in your country and in all the world.
I am pretty sure that my life withtout tv would be very sad, i think that i would feel disconnected and i wouldnt know what is happening in the rest of the world.

New expectations!!

This definitely is a new part of the road of my life which has been really exciting because I am learning a new form of see the world around me.This is the first semester  of my  career  so I’m  doing introductory  subjects, which are:  Sociology, Anthropology , Psychology, Research methodology, Contemporary social history and English.I am happy with my schedule because is very relax, the most of the days I have class in the morning so generally I have a “relax” afternoon, however when I have to do an assignment, I focus the most of the afternoons and the weekend to do that.I am not doing any extracurricular activity because I want to focus in the university and so have a good performance, especially because this term mainly involves organization and adaptation to this new system. I hope omit all the subjects that I can.Basically I expect from this new academic period is learn new things, make some new friends and broaden my horizons to new experiences that will help me to be the professional that I aspire be.

A little about myself

My name is Carla; I was born in the south of Santiago in the city of San Bernardo, Chile, July 23, 1995.  I was born there because in the village where my parents lived  which name is Paine, there wasn’t a  hospital.

When I was three years old, we move to the city of Los Andes, where I grew up. In the  neighbourhood where i lived, was a kindergarden, which name was “Garden School” , and was a beautiful time of my life, i remember that i liked very much go everyday, because i could played with my classmates in the break.

Then when i was oldest i went to “Claudio Gay School”,that also was very close of the neighbourhood where i lived, then i made a lot of friends. When i was eight years old , my sister ,Antonia, was born and i was very excited, but i can’t saw she, the first days because she was sick.

When i was nine years old i changed of school again, and i went to “Maria Auxiliadora School”, that were the best years until the moment, because i met my best friends and i developed like a person. I really like went to the school eventhough of the tests and the homeworks. So when i have to live the school was very sad.

Later my parents divorced, so now i live with my mother and my sister.

After leaved the school i started the university this year¡, so i am in the first year of sociology, and though I spent little time i am very comfortable with the career and my classmates.

Some of my hobbies are listening music, read a good book with a coup of coffee, watch movies and series in the cable, and of course visit my friends and have a good talk.
